As a disabled individual, I have coped with both sudden and gradual disabilities and the limitations and hardships that they impose on my daily life. Disabled patients often go through a grieving process that can last for years and is sometimes re- triggered by life events. The feelings of anger, sadness, fear and disbelief are normal emotions as one goes through the grieving process. I listen carefully to your story to ensure that I grasp your unique situation as fully as possible. We also work together to discuss the challenges and limitations that the disability is imposing on your life and how to best cope as you move forward.
